Rain Dance
A Story of Romance & Adventure in Ancient India

CANADIAN WRITER'S BOOK RELEASE ON HISTORICAL ROMANCE

The Canadian High Commission and Brijbasi Art Press Ltd. announced the launch of RAIN DANCE: A Story of Romance & Adventure in Ancient India, by the Canadian author Shanta Sinha Bhalla. The book was released by High Commissioner of Canada, H.E.Lucie Edwards at the Official Residence, 4, Aurangzeb Road on April 23, 2005 at 6.30 p.m.

The evening opened with a musical rendering of love songs by Tara Baswani, who just has released a music video 'Slide' from the film White Noise and the acclaimed Postcards from God, a theatrical musical based on lmtiaz Dharkar's book of poems and performed under the Daksha Sheth banner.

The historical romance is set in the times of Emperor Ashoka. "The gracious living, spiritual striving, philosophical inquiry and worldly sophistication of Ashoka's enlightened reign bring back the Golden Age of India not as a quaint relic of the past but as a touchstone for the modern state."

The author, Shanta Sinha Bhalla, graduated from York University in Toronto and lived in Canada for a number of years. She is a writer, artist and a trainer who conducts workshops for corporate clients. She now lives and works in Delhi. This is her first published novel.
