Srishti - Stained Glass in Delhi
Week 4
Before visiting Kaanch i decided to mail them again... and this time i got a GOOD reply. Maybe they just didn't get my first mail.
Maybe they could organise some workshops for school students around Delhi. They could use Anand Foundation as a medium to let the people in Delhi know they were offering this.
I also plan to get in touch with Atul Bakshi and ask him if he wants to write a column on restoration. He seemed very passionate about it when i met him.
The church plan failed miserably. I changed my mind about a section on churches.
Although, I did do some research on interior design and stained glass. Stained glass originated in Europe, as a means of expression on church ceilings and windows. This art is now widespread around the world. Here in Delhi it is used extensively in interiors. It is used in public offices to lighten up the area. It adds an element of space to any area because of its transparency.
It is used widely in houses, specially flats, due to the same reason. It gives a feeling of modern yet authentic taste with its simplicity of design, and complexity of colour.
Awaiting a reply from either Atul Bakshi or Kaanch, I am wrapping up my project hoping that anand foundation can infact serve as a medium where artists can help and learn from each other.
