Dance as a project

The project I would like to work on will be Dance. Since I have been learning classical as well as other forms of dance for many years now I have developed a keen interest for it. I feel dance is a very dominant art form. Every child in someway gets drawn towards it. It’s an art form, which can be watched, learned, created and discussed. It also helps one in discovering himself. Hence dance can easily be termed as an unquenchable thirst for an ocean, which spreads itself faster than a ray of light, over unimaginable territories!

Forms of Dance which I’d like to explore

Dance is a very holistic term it includes numerous forms broadly classified as - Indian classical (Bharatanatyam, Kuchpudi, Mohiniattam etc), Western (Ballet, Jazz, Hiphop, salsa etc), Folk (Rajasthani, Gidda, Dandya, etc) and Modern Contemporary.
I would like to concentrate on:
Indian Classical
Indian Folk
Modern Contemporary

Planned Contents

1. Contribute to the dance directory which already exists on the website that will include information such as address, contact numbers, email-ids, fee structure of the institution.
2. To give a brief write up about the dance forms and how they originated. Also the views of the renowned artists about their art form
3. To profile and interview the eminent dance gurus of Delhi.
4. To make the young and upcoming dancers of the city aware of this website and its facilities.
5. To find information on the dance festivals held in the city and also update the dance calendar.

Basic Objective

With the help of my project I would like to bring about sensitivity and passion for this art form and create awareness of the living culture of the city. Also I will try and collect as much information as I can to help the aspiring dancers decide what is best for them. I would also like to use your website as a platform for upcoming artists so that they get the exposure they need.
