DIRECTOR - LUSHIN DUBEY

In 1986, Theatre World is a stage group committed to originals and with a message. An extension of the parent concern Kids World. It has pushed its limits from working with youth to incorporating all age groups. Most of the productions staged over the last fifteen years have incorporated a wide range of ages. Our plays have travelled extensively in India to Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, and Guwahati.... Theatre is a dynamic medium and challenges its own frontiers. From directing we have branched into scripting and giving birth, as it were, to the whole production. Script writing, music, acting, direction - are all colours of the same landscape. Theatre World has grown out of the efforts of Lushin Dubey and Bubbles Sabharwal, the creative director duo who pioneered Kids World. The "Life of Gautama Buddha', which has currently returned from Bodh Gaya and Kolkata is a labour of love. It is a fusion of music, of styles and of language and it is the creative director's and fond hope that the poignant message of the Buddha will be spread further by this effort. It has also travelled to Singapore, in April 2002, and currently returned from a tour in the United States June 2002, where it was performed in several cities (Washington DC, Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Houston and New York). started a Youth, Theatre Group 'Kids World' with her cousin, Bubbles Sabharwal. Together they have produced, scripted and directed many plays, establishing Kids World as a pioneer in youth, theatre group in India. Six years back was involved in a lot of Shakespearean productions. Produced and acted as Desdemona in Othello- which won the Edinburgh Fringe Award in 2000.

Recently finished staging a solo performance "Untitled" in which her co actors are puppets whom she interacts with in this production Lushin gives a voice to the woman's case .... The woman's plight in a world dominated by men, and how the woman hit back. This production has received tremendous acclaim and Lushin has been asked to travel outside the country with it.

Lushin has acted in several serials and also in an experimental production ' Chaos Theory' in New York and has recently finished acting in her first feature film 'Perfect Husband'.

DIRECTOR : ARVIND GAUR

Arvind Gaur who heads the delhi based Theatre group ASMITA is committed to innovative and socially relevant theatre. Starting off as a journalist and working for sometime for the electronic media he set up ASMITA and earned a reputation in theatre circle in delhi and outside. In the past ten years, he has directed 48 major plays which include Girish Karnad's Tuglaq and Rakt Kalyan, Dharamveer Bharti's Andha Yug, Swadesh Deepak's Court Martial, G P Deshpande's Antim Divas, Albert Camus' Caligula, Mahesh Dattani's Final Solutions and Tara, Eugene O'neill's Desire Under the Elms, Dario Fo's An Accidental death of an Anarchist, Bertolt Brecht's Good Woman of Setzuan and Caucasian chalk circle, Samuel Beckett's Waiting For Godot, John Octanasek's Romeo Juliet and the darkness, Neli Simon's The Good Doctor. Also Vijay Tendulkar's Ghairam Kotwal, Munshi Premchand's Moteram ka Satyagrah, Ashok Lal's Ek Mamooli aadmi, Rajesh Kumar's Me Gandhi Bolto and Uday Prakash's Waren Hastings ka Saand.
Arvind Gaur has been invited to perform in Bharat Rang Mahotsava (N.S.D), Sangeet Natak Akademi, Sahitya Kala Parisad, Nandikar and Vivachana Theatre Festivals.

Arvind Gaur has conducted many theatre workshops and directed productions in different colleges in Delhi. Such as L.S.R., I.P., Gargi, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, I.I.T. (Delhi), Aditi college and School of Planning and Architecture. He also performed various plays in collobration with culture organizations like Theatre World, Paridhi, Rainbow Cavaliers and NGOs like Mobile Creches, Action Aid and Deepalaya.
