Rang Satak was registered on 26th June 2002. Its main objective is the dramatization of literary work. The plays that are acted out by this group are mainly dramatizations of famous literary work. The group has performed plays like 'Rang Bhoomi' which has been sponsored by the Hindi academy. They did 11 shows of this play all around India and the world. In India it was shown in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai etc.

They have also done plays such as 'Ashar ke ek din' by Mohan Rakesh and 'Maila Anchal' by Phaleshwar Nath Renu. There are about 36 actors at present associated with the group. Many are freelance actors.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Surendra Sharma is an NSD graduate and has specialized in Acting. He has performed in many roles in various different and diverse plays including 'Sambhav'. He has also worked with the renowned Rahil Gupta and Viren Saksena. In 1987 he worked in Mahesh Bhatts production of 'Daddy'. He worked with Govind Anand in Tamas as well as productions such as Discovery of India and Katha Sagar.

After he returned from Mumbai, he formed his group - Rang Satak and he taught in institutions like Sri Ram Centre, Bharat Hindu and NSD and also worked as a questioning lecturer in Lucknow academy.
