Rajesh Talwar is mainly a writer but also a lawyer by profession. While practising law he has also taught law to L.L.B students at Delhi University and Jamia Millia Islamia over a period of six year. In 1996 he went to U.K. on British Chevening scholsarship, from where he did his L.L.M in Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham, following which he has worked for the United
Nations in various capacities in Kosovo, Somalia and Liberia. He has written extensively on legal and non-legal subjects for various newspapers and magazines, and has authored several books, both non-fiction as well as fiction.
In non-fiction 'Making Your Own Will' (Vision Books, 1992) was followed by 'The Judiciary on Trial' (Cosmos, 1995), 'How to Choose Your Lawyer' (Vision Books, 1998), 'The Divorce Handbook' (Vision Books, 1999), 'The Third Sex and Human Rights' (Gyan Books, 1999), and 'The Laws of E-Business in India' (Vision Books, 2001). In 2005 he was attached as a playwright to the Blue Elephant Theatre in London preparatory to the staging of 'A Most Unsuitable Girl' at the theatre.
He has a Certificate in Film Making from the London Film Academy, and has worked in various capacities in short films such as 'Sexpresso' (Director: Katherine Simkins), 'My Little Loneliness' (Director: Joe Hirsch), 'DHARMA' (Director:Stuart Wilkinson). In 2005 he directed, scripted and edited a short film 'Boy-Girl meets Girl-Boy' starring Umar Abbas and Victoria Johnston.
