Kala Darpan is a theatre group established originally in Uttargachi, Uttaranchal. Its head office exists there and it has been a firmly established group for the last twenty years. It has also been established in Delhi for the last ten years.

It has participated in well- known events such as the Bharat Rang Mahotsav and for the Asian National Theatre Association. They have performed plays such as Khajoor Mein Hatha, Sandhya Chaya sponsored by Sahitya Kala Parishad and Neeli Chatri, based on Ruskin Bonds The Blue Umbrella. The group also holds many workshops with children and has also held many street plays.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Suwarna Rawat is the founder and artistic director of Kala Darpan. He is also graduated from NSD in the batch of 1989 after taking up acting as his specialization. He is also one of the founder members of TIE - Theatre in Education.

At present he is also doing research work with Sardar Patel Vidyalay on using theatre as a tool make learning effective.
