How we propose to use this?

1. Make these resources available to the School and Colleges to be used for their educational purposes, as they deem fit . Schools and Colleges invariably need such resources both.

2. For their educational as well as cultural programmes. The indexing of the available resources with the library will be available through our website.

3. Using the options offered by broadband internet.

Background Note

Our foundation is a non profit philanthropic trust based in New Delhi. The trust is entirely funded by trustees and the Parijat Agencies.

We are working with a mission to create fellowship both National and International among the student community in Delhi through the medium of Performance and Fine Arts.

In an increasingly globalized world, along with the importance of retaining what is good in our own cultures and traditions, we believe it is imperative that young people are inculcated also with the ability to accept and appreciate people different from us. A task which the commercial media is singularly doing a bad job of by projecting stero types.

We also believe that our children are being bombarded with a incorrect stereotype notions through the media of what is "normal" culture. This is dangerously developing into an inculcation in young people that some cultures are normal and the cultures of other countries are exotic.

We believe that alternate channels must be made available for students whereby they are exposed to other cultures that do not reinforce media stero types.

This is exactly the focus of the work and projects being undertaken by the Anand Foundation with academic institutions in Delhi, where by we are facilitating cultural interactions with students within their institutions, in a contemporary idiom.
