My Story -My parents and forefathers are from the ancient land of Rajasthan. In olden days we sang in the courts of Amar Singh Rathod. I sing traditional Rajasthani folksongs which have been sung by many generations before me.
I sing various songs which include "welcome songs" like Bana Ray Songs, Mehendi haldi songs, Chirmi songs and Kalbelia songs. These songs are still popular and nowadays these are being also copied in Hindi films.
About Guddi Bhatt- She was six years old when she started to learn this art. When she was twelve years old, almost 40 years ago, she did her first performance with her mother. Her mother was a very good Rajasthani singer and the best in the Kathputli colony for many years.
Guddi's mother died in 1975. For the sake of her mothers memories, Guddi wanted to be the best singer in Shadipur Depot, and she is. She sings all kinds of Rajasthani songs (Mand, Gummer, Chirami and other folk songs).
